Our Partnership with Project ChildSafe
We are proud to partner with Project ChildSafe and the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office! Project ChildSafe is a nationwide firearm safety program created by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Project ChildSafe promotes responsible gun ownership and helps prevent accidents by providing free firearm safety kits, which include a cable-style gun lock and educational materials.
Through this partnership, community members can stop by the Ashtabula County Board of DD during open hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM) to pick up a free gun lock. Registration is not required! We also host tables at community events throughout the year, and gun locks will be available at many of those events.
Our goal is to reduce the risk of accidents by offering gunlocks to help families safely secure their firearms when not in use. By increasing access to safe storage tools and information, we hope to build a safer community for everyone.
